CHILWORTH PRAYER DIARY
SEPTEMBER 2025
“While he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’” Luke 15:20-21
1st MON – Our prayers are with Nina and Andy Kingshott at Andy’s mother’s funeral today.
2nd TUE – We pray for the world, torn by terrible wars, so many people suffering because of man’s inhumanity to man.
3rd WED – We remember today our medical professionals, working tirelessly to bring healing to our sick and infirm.
4th THUR – Chilworth Care Committee Coffee Morning 10am at St Thomas. Evening Prayer meeting all welcome St Thomas at 7:30pm.
5th FRI – We pray for families in our community, that with God’s grace they may model loving relationships.
6th SAT – Prayer Breakfast @ the Vicarage 9am, all welcome to attend as we pray for the community and share fellowship with one another.
7th SUN – All welcome at St Thomas 9:30am and St Martha’s 11:15am, may you find God wherever you worship today.
8th MON - Tinies and Toddlers group meeting. May we all rejoice and praise you for the miracle that we have seen in our midst.
9th TUE – Dear Lord, we lift before you those places suffering due to natural disasters such as earthquake, famine or drought.
10th WED – We ask that our frontline medical staff may find the strength, patience and skills they need for today. We pray for all who work in the Emergency Department at RSCH
11th THUR – Chilworth Care Committee Coffee Morning 10am at St Thomas, may those in our communities who are lonely find peace and friendships as they take the opportunities to meet together.
12th FRI – We continue to pray for those in our communities who are on their own, who cannot get out and struggle with daily tasks due to age or frailty.
13th SAT – May this weekend bring joy, fun and fellowship. We ask for those undertaking the Ride and Stride event for safe journeying.
14th SUN – All welcome at St Peter and St Paul Albury 9:30 am and St Martha’s 11:15am, we also remember the Heritage events taking place today.
15th MON - Tinies and Toddlers group meeting 9.15-10.30 am today. We pray for our churches that they may be safe havens where people can pray and find God.
16th TUE – We remember today especially those Christians across the world who are persecuted, imprisoned or worse because they believe in you.
17th WED – We pray for those that we know are ill, in body, mind or spirit, may today be a day when they feel the Lord touch them with his healing hand.
18th THUR – Chilworth Care Committee Coffee Morning 10am at St Thomas. Evening Prayer meeting all welcome St Thomas at 7:30pm.
19th FRI – Let us remember those who are facing mortality, if they do not know you yet Lord, may today be the day that they hear you and come into a loving relationship with you.
20th SAT – As we seek to be more visible within the community, may we as the church find the doors that we need to knock on.
21st SUN - All welcome at St Thomas 9:30am and St Martha’s 11:15am, may you Lord, bless our church leaders and bless them as they serve you.
22nd MON - Tinies and Toddlers group meeting today, may our conversations with those who come, be fruitful.
23rd TUE – We ask again for peace in the world, an end to the suffering of so many innocent victims, for whom every day is so dangerous and tough, may relief come quickly.
24th WED – Let us continue to pray faithfully for those we know who are unwell, and to be bold in asking the Lord to heal.
25th THUR – Chilworth Care Committee Coffee Morning 10am at St Thomas, that as people meet to chat that they may also meet the risen Lord.
26th FRI – May we pray for revival in our communities, rejoicing at the news of a quiet revival taking place, may many come to faith.
27th SAT – We pray for such an outpouring of your Holy Spirit in this community that every home is touched and we see a rich and bountiful harvest.
28th SUN – All welcome at the Old Saxon Church at 10am for our Benefice Harvest celebration, and at St Martha’s 11:15am.
29th MON - Tinies and Toddlers group meeting today.
Thanks to all who give to Chilworth Foodbank enabling it to continue to provide for families desperately struggling with food poverty.
30th TUE – We pray for youth work within the Benefice and pray for the Lychgate Youth Trust AGM tonight.
